Sam Simmons – About the Weather

Meet Sam – an awkward, middle-aged, balding, man whose one true hate in life is the act of idle chit chat. But what if the only way he can overcome loneliness and get the girl he has been pining for is to do away with this insecurity and talk about the weather?Sam Simmons brings us About the Weather, a bizarre and at times confronting comedy about one hopeless man stumbling through life and confronting his fears.

The story is performed by Sam, with guiding recorded narration from Craig Schuftan, taking us on a very physical and loud journey through his mechanical daily life. He painstakingly tries to build a DIY coffee table, to get with a girl on his bus, and to shut up the guy at work who will not stop talking about how awesomely extreme he is.

The plot takes a turn when Sam daydreams in a fish and chip shop and the audience is taken on a weird and wonderful tour through his imagination; including a moment of seduction by a female Spanish prostitute named Graham, and a moment of sheer bewilderment for an audience member when he is accosted by Sam on a spinning chair.

This brand of comedy is not for everyone. It is unconventional, dark and downright silly. But those who are not easily offended are sure to enjoy his innovative and engaging humour, his well-timed slap-stick, and his ability to drop relevant social observations into outlandish scenarios.

Sam provides endless laughs and consistent entertainment with never a dull moment.
